The Palmer Raids began in 1918 and continued to 1921. The raids were named after Attorney General Mitchell Palmer. Palmer believed collectivism was eating its way into the homes of the American workman. The Palmer Raids gave the government the power to balk suspected radicals on suspicion alone.
