West Side Story Review

wolfram billet Story Review For me this production of West Side Story was enthralling, energetic & vitamin A; emotional. I was a unforesightful confused at first as I had seen the plastic film version in the leadhand. The use of backdrops, sets and props was clever. rough of the sets were simple further the lighting and props made them magical. The overage photos of New York winded up & projected on the back of the compass point very created the sense of being there, in that era. I besides thought the costumes were ingenious, they helped to tell us who was who. The Sharks and their girls in their really bright, royal poinciana outfits contrasted with the Jets who almost appeared to be a uniform. The performers visualised their characters to perfection. I back tootht imagine the difficulty of having to act, utter and dance, especially when the chorography was so fast & complicated. I really care Officer Krupke and Doc: want two antagonist kinds of adults: Krupke who distrusts & dislikes the kids (but is evenhandedly funny), and Doc who is sympathetic. Of the gang kids I liked Riff the trump: the actor was really good & I like that character. He reminds me a bit of my chum (which isnt unavoidably a good thing) Anita was great: she brought a touch of snappishness to the otherwise tragic story. The orchestra was amazing in replicating the original songs which I believe are only pass by the medicine of Rogers and Hammerstein. As the curtain closed I had tears in my eyes and as I left-hand(a) the incredible Regent theater of operations with Gee Officer Krupke stuck in my head.
